3 inmates on sexual charge

THREE prisoners have been charged with physically and sexually assaulting their fellow inmate in a cell in Changi Prison earlier this year.

The three men, aged between 19 and 21, are accused of punching and kicking the man in his chest and body some time between April 26 and May 5.

All three are also said to have forced the man to perform oral sex on them in the cell on several occasions between April 27 and May 5. One of them also allegedly sodomised him in the cell on April 28.

The alleged offences occurred in one cell in the prison. The trio were charged in July.

The alleged victim, who was hospitalised for about two months because of his injuries, cannot be named due to a court order.

If these story was repeated two thousand years later, the Christian Right would say that this story shows that God is against homosexual sex, and totally against Gay relationships and those who engaged in such should be punished. Sadly that is how we read our prejudice and homophobia into the bible.

In the above incident, clearly the three men were teaching the victim a lesson of who is in charge and who is in control by demeaning the man by raping him, and forcing him to have oral sex. Are they gay, most unlikely. They are much more likely to be straight just as 95% of the population is.

The above is not two loving couples loving and committed to each other. It is not sexual orientation. Yet, we all know this very well, but chose to package this with violent acts of subjugation as we see the same in Sodom and Gomorrah. In the jewish context, this was a really wicket action. If it was a women, perhaps it's ok, but for men, it means being degraded to the level of a women. It's against the order of nature of nature ie man first.

The Christian Right also attempts to highlight only the sexual component of gays, and quite smartly too. Those who knows Gay people, would testify that it is much much more than sex, and gays are genuinely different from the straight men in the general mannerism, clothing, outlook of life, sport activities, the way they talk, behave and conduct themselves. It is so innate and comes so naturally since young. That is why the Jews called the Gays, natural Eunuchs, because they are Gay from the mothers womb with no desire to have sex with women and exhibit very different mannerism from straight men. It is easy to dehumanise gays, so that we can't hear their cries and our conscience does not bother us.

The Christian Right says it is a choice to explain their interpretation of the bible. How can this be a choice, when the bible speaks of straight men choosing to have sex with men and women, in the worship of fertility gods. We know the context, yet deliberately mis-interpret the bible. This is a very serious false witness, which will speak badly of the integrity and morality of Christians in general.

Another favorite of the Christian Right is to package Gay marriages and Abortions in the same light as if the abortions were carried out by gays. This is so that all the feelings of revolt against abortions can be used against the Gay people. Obviously, the abortions occured because of the pomiscuity in straight relationships and marriages. We don't ban heterosexual sex just because of abortions!

I guess Gays are easy victims with no way to fight back, just as the victim in the above crime was outnumbered three to one. But Justice sometimes happen, and these straight men were charged in court. So too heavenly justice sometimes do happened, for we have sodomised the gay community for the sake of our own narrow dogma and obviously erroneous biblical interpretation. It's hard to keep lying because you just have to tell one lie to cover up the next. We may assert that we are not "anti-gay" but our actions and hypocrisy speaks otherwise, and judged as "guilty as charged" before God's heavenly court. We don't even need a witness! nor our defence that it is a religious right to discriminate against gays do us any good.
