- Fight Workplace Discrimination
- Support Full Civil Unions and Federal Rights for LGBT Couples
- Oppose a Constitutional Ban on Same-Sex Marriage:
- Repeal Don't Ask-Don't Tell:
- Expand Adoption Rights
- Promote AIDS Prevention & Empower Women to Prevent HIV/AIDS:

It took a few seconds for the page to be uploaded to all the Web Servers around the world, but that few seconds must have been eternity for a group of people whose dignity, and humanity has been cruely taken away, dissected, and abused by the "Christian" majority. This was a historic occasion.

Meanwhile, we return to the persistent revelations gay scandals in the Christian Right movement with the Rev Ted Haggard again the news of a man in his early 20s, who allegedly was in relationship with Ted when he was the senior pastor. The New Life Church had apparently quietly settled the issue legally with the parties agreed not to discuss publicly but the recent HBO movie on “The Trials of Ted Haggard” where Ted was painted as a victim, antagonized the situation. It appears that more skeletons are coming out of the closet.

It is often alleged by Christians that Rome fell because of immorality epitomized by homosexuality. However, is not based on history and a rather erroneous interpretation of Paul letter (c. AD60) to the Jews in Rome condemning them of their Law mindedness and mentioning Homosexual acts of their forefathers in the worship of foreign idols when determining to follow the law.

Paul was emphasizing the Grace message. It was the Grace Message of God that allowed the Gospel to spread beyond the Jewish community to the Gentile community in Rome. It became so popular and anti-Caesar (who was the bridge head between God and Man as opposed to Jesus) that Christians were persecuted until Rome became a Christian state in AD 313 with the Edict of Milan. Rome fell in AD 476 not because Gay queens overtook Rome as alleged by Sngaporean Christians but they were finally overrun by the German “Barbarians”.

(John 18:36 NKJV) Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here."

Rome fell 400 years later than the alleged gay indulgences in the Book of Romans (c.60) claimed by Christian to have caused it. Why are Christians distorting history so blatantly and so eager to claim that Gay queens caused the fall of Rome, the slippery slope of immorality that would apparently befall a nation of Singapore if it goes the same way? Obviously, to find a scapegoat to blame! When Rome became “Christian” in AD313, one would have expected it to be blessed and to grow stronger and reclaim the Roman Empire of old. It did not, and Rome fell in AD 465.

The Christian Faith, the kingdom of God with Jesus Christ as the head, is not the kingdom of this world ruled by earthly men. When we attempt the make the body of Christ be part of the power structures and control, we caused both moral and economic issues. That was what happened in Rome when Christians took of power, and that was what happened in Washington when the Christian Right took over power in the Senate in the 90s, and then the US Presidency in year 2000.

In the last 8 years under the Bush Christian Right rule, the debt rose from 5 trillion to more than 11 trillion!, and the rich and the big businesses supported by the Christian Right became richer milking the poor souls through cheap loans and ever increasing housing prices. Hundreds of thousands have been killed and hundreds of billions spent in unnecessary wars and the environment pillaged for the sake of economic growth. And why not? Did not the bible say that we are to subdue the world? The prosperity theology became the rage, and why not with many having a 100 fold bonuses, and obscene military contracts. The money has already gone even with the fall of Wall Street leaving the Main Street with foreclosure notices and an America owned increasingly by the foreigners through debt. The Chinese, the Arabs, and the Japanese are becoming the modern day “barbarians” that have conquered Rome.

The “hidden debt” is far more troubling. The GDP continues to grow rapidly over the last 50 years, but is it is funded by an increasing population from the baby boom era with a big social security bill. There is a rapidly increasing cost of Social Security and Government Retirement programs. According to USA Today Research article dated 29 May 2007, there is a 59 trillion liability for the tax payers for the unfunded obligations. The obligations are at a Federal, State and Local Governments for Social Security, Federal Debt, Military benefits, state and local debt. The special accounting rules have meant that they need not be declared. The federal government recorded another “loss” of more than 1.3 trillion last year of increased obligations. By 2018, the Social Security expediture will start exceeding the receipts and we will start eating into the Social Security Trust.

The Social Security surplus has been reducing the debt as it has been lent to the treasury (eg 159 billion in year 2004). Therefore, the debt would have been much higher. With the ever reducing social security receipts surplus, we will have far less money to spend further expediting the debt crisis even before 2018. When the social security deficit comes, if the taxes remains the same, and the deficit continues to grow at the same rate, we may be looking at a far worst financial situation in Nov 2016. (assuming that President Obama last for two terms). What ever he does may be too late after President Bush, and his big businesses and Christian Right supporters all but bankrupt the country. If the Evangelical Christians in USA does not start to face reality and come out from its obsessions with gays, and start to seek God and ask for forgiveness and for His grace and mercy, America and Christianity may find itself going into the closets which they put gays in. We are the salt and light to the nations that we are in. We are there to seek God on their behalf.

(Isa 1:15 NKJV) When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

The Christians in America have sought God, and proclaimed "in God we trust". The solution must be they declared a "Christian" America under the Republican party with faith based initiatives. However, their "faith" based actions was full of blood in God's eyes, the treatment of Gays, the war in Iraq, the abuse of economic power to support the rich and wealthy businesses in the name of the prsperity gospel. As much as they prayed the economy did not improve, and their enemies in Iraq and Afganistan did not dissapear.

(Isa 1:16,17 NKJV) "Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.

Perhaps, the saving grace of America is that when she begins to treat the gay outcasts within its midst with dignity and humanity, and restore the rights due to them instead of following the unrighteous schemes of the religious right to rob and to steal, and to take away. Then, will God listen to its cries and will answer and be the light of its salvation in this desperate times.

It is a new season in America, a time of change, a time to wash overselves clean from the abuse of religious faith and power, to wash ourselves clean from the harm caused by religion gone bad. The salvation of the Lord is coming. The situation is actually far worst that we have imagined, but the Lord will come and save us.
