As I was reading the
plans for welcome, ministry, discipleship, bible study, cell group of
another church, what I felt was that if the throne room of Jesus was
built up, in worship and right preaching, people would come especially
when it was the only GLBT church in the city and there are so many GLBT
Christians. Just being inclusive is soon no longer enough.
Depending on your
church tradition, sometimes church can be so humanistic in some places,
and in many others, so self righteous of their own holiness. We tend to
create God in our own image. Therefore, when we proclaim that God was
against gays, it is often our own standing. We when say that we pray to
a God of many names, instead to the God of Israel, we want to believe
that God is universal rather than personified in Christ Jesus.
The worship of God is
so simple yet so difficult. We strive too hard in prayer, worship and
doing good works. All is needed is the most diffcult task of just
entering into rest in the presence of God in truth and in the spirit. It
is in the truth, that Jesus is God, the redeemer, the way and the life,
and that we worship God not in Jerusalem only but in the spirit. ie we
can enter into the spiritual realm anywhere.
Jerusalem was a portal
to heaven, but because Christ is in us, each one of us, and especially
in a body of Christ where together in unity we can build up a throne by
exalting Jesus can be a portal to heaven with a spiritual temple where
the Holy of Holies reside.
Just like the three
wise men who chose the correct place to worship God when Jesus was born,
we just need to be in the right place when the Spirit of God moves. It
is no longer our works or effort, but the Spirit of God touching us and
leading us into that sacred place of worship. We can leverage of the
worship and praises of the body of Christ in that particular community
where Jesus is enthroned.
The Holy of Holies is
where Jesus is enthroned, worshipped and exalted as the King of Kings
and the Lord of Lords rather than our own intellectual humanity or our
religious self righteousness. When we enter into the throne room of God
in the Spirit through the atmosphere of faith and truth built up through
the powerful worship and exaltation by others, we do not need to do much
but just to rest.
Often, our worship and
prayers are far too insufficient as much as we try especially when we
down or weak. We are not able to breakthrough ourselves in the spiritual
realm. When our oil is empty and the fire no longer burning, we
need only to enter a place of refuge, a place of rest where the presence
and annointing of God is already built up by the worshippers and the
preaching of the Word of God.
We are often naive not
aware that we are in spiritual battle with Satan, and in some faith
communities, we don't even believe that Satan exist because of our
theological construction. We are deceived so that we do not enter into
that place of caution and continuous prayer knowing that Satan prowls.
We will be attacked if we are extending the Kingdom of God on earth. It
is this spiritual barrier that often stops the church from expanding.
The plans of Satan is
to destroy us, and the work of God, but our victory is assured when we
enter to rest in the Holy of Holies. In is in this place of rest where
Jesus is enthroned, and the truth of Christ death and resurrection is
exalted that we receive power and annointing. Victory is assured when we
are not fighting with our own strenght. Therefore, enter into rest,
enter into God's grace, mercy and love in Jesus Christ and strive no
more.
Ex 33: 14 And He said,
“My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
