Seeking the real Kingdom of God

(John 18:36 NKJV) Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here."

In a new Gallop Poll on 22 Aug 2011, the incumbent President Obama is tied with the hypothetical GOP challenges Mitt Romney and Rick Perry. Rick Perry is supported by a band of die-hard supporters apparently driven by a Christian Dominion theology of the Kingdom of God whilst Obama’s band of followers with a progressive Kin-dom concept have less zeal of perpetuating Obama’s Kingdom.

According to “the Daily Beast”, Rick Perry has deep ties to a Christian Movement known as Dominism where Christians are said to have a God ordained right to rule over secular institutions and organizations including Religion, Governments, Business, Media, Education, Arts. The Texas Observer Cover story examines Rick Perry’s connection to New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) or the Seven Mountains movement.

In Huffington post, Rachel Maddow talks of Gov. Rick Perry as attempting a Christian political domination of US. This is not new and had already happened from the block voting of the Christian Right since early 90s using gays as a wedge issue and a scapegoat resulting in President Bush being elected and re-elected, and the Defense of Marriage Act which didn’t reduce the rates of divorce or abortions by straight people. The concern by Maddow is valid as Perry had organized a large Christian prayer rally of 30,000 in Houston to propel him into the Presidential race as the new messiah for the United States.

In Singapore, organizations such as Love Singapore and events such as mega church joint rallies such as “Transformation 2009” ties in with the concepts of Dominism of Ed Siloso, and Peter C Wagner. Market place Evangelism is a push to exert influence beyond the Religious Mountain to usher in the Kingdom of God. The Aware take over by the Anglican Churches of Our Savior was a Kingdom take over using gays as the wedge issue. They had to implicate gays after the take-over of the liberal secular group to cover up their real agenda. A delusional notion a “Gay Agenda” was created, in order to cover their own Dominion agenda.

In a response to the conquering “Kingdom of God”, there is a opposing concept of the “Kin-dom of God”, where Jesus become King-less and the Christian faith becomes a community of believers who are kin to God and kin to each other. The Kin-dom concept emphasized love, community living and relationships, rather than extension of a religious kingdom on behalf of Jesus.

The Dominion mega churches advocate that joy and utopia, heaven on earth, comes when this world is “Christian” and Jesus Christ would come back. In history, this didn’t happen. Medieval Europe was “Christian”, the Catholic church was in full control of the European world and yet it was the dark ages.

This Dominion kingdom is created by men instead of by God. It is based on the ways of the world, the ways of men where the strong rule over the weak and where the GLBT tribe will again become outcast.

Let us seek first the Kingdom of God, and not the kingdom of men. The real kingdom of God is being at peace and at rest with God and humanity through grace in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
