(1 Tim 4:2 NKJV) speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,

The Christian Right sure gave lots of pressure to the Republican Senators but doing what was right and just took over their conscience.

"Well, fuck it, I don't care what you think. I'm trying to do the right thing," said Republican Senator Roy McDonald of Saratoga 

However, the conscience of the Christian Right has been seared with a hot iron. In the aftermath of the Gay marriage legalization in New York, the Christian Post and NOM are still repeating their claim that the legislature was against the public opinion that 57% of New Yorkers were apparently against gay marriage. They intend to take the Republicans to tasks. Other Christian sites such as Charisma and Christian Broadcasting Network are far less vocal.

When the poll was analysed further, it seemed that the Christian Post had used NOM polling which was at best a bogus poll based on a very narrow segment of the population and was not representative of New Yorkers. The Huffington Post reported that the NOM poll was particularly blatant in its attempt to skew the results. For example, 69% were over the age of 50. They also must have surveyed inside a church where 43% goes to church weekly.

The Quinnipiac University Poll had instead found that 56% of New Yorkers supported Gay marriage, and this has increased to 58% this month. The shift of public opinion has come.

In the placards raised by the Christian Right in New York, one said "Homosexuals are possessed by Demons" which is twisting the truth for in the bible it was not homosexuals who had anal sex with the temple priests but straight men who did so in order to be pocessed by demons. It was part of their worship of god as people of faith!. Why blame gays for religious Jews worshipping demons! Putting gays in closet and blaming the weak minority for the sins of the community and using this fear to trump up support/funding is the doctrine of demons - pure deception and distortion of the truth.

There were also some in the Christian Community who thought it their responsibility to stop the road to justice:-

a) The black community, most notably, New York Giants Star, David Tyree who delievered 63,000 petition against gay marriage

b)  Over 150 Hispanic Churches rallying gays organized by the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization. They did so in 2009, and are now flexing their muscles.

When we go out of our way to limit the basic rights of others which we have ourselves, surely we are taking God's grace in vain for we deserve our own rights to be questioned as well. They have been deceived and will bear the moral consequences if not by the grace of God.

For all its emphasis on Christian morality and righteousness, it is sad that in some Christian groups crusade against gays (a small and weak minority), they had to distort the truth in order to come against gays. They were stealing anyway and have done so for decades, the basic rights and freedom of gays.

We are reminded of the same mentality in Christian Post SG in the Aware saga when they became the mouth piece of the Anglican and Methodist churches.

When some Christians resort to dishonesty and deliberate lies in order to proclaim a false witness against gays, the entire Christian Faith is indicted and the message of the Gospel will be undermined.

When the bible talks about lying, it is specific to being a false witness in the court so that others are blamed and being accused falsely and suffer injustice as a result of our lies. It is a terrible sin where we gain advantage/profit and others suffer the penalty for a crime not committed.

We have been lying about what the bible says about gays for more than a thousand years. The verses about law abiding people of faith having sex with their gods being blamed on gays is outrageous. The bible was not talking about any sin of homosexuality, it is the sin of being a prostitute to other gods. These were law minded bible believing Jews closely related to their modern day counterpart of some Christians worshipping the gods of power, and wealth.

(Lev 19:11 NKJV) 'You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.

(Lev 19:13 NKJV) 'You shall not cheat your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of him who is hired shall not remain with you all night until morning.

(Lev 19:14 NKJV) 'You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shall fear your God: I am the LORD.

(Lev 19:15 NKJV) 'You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not be partial to the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty. In righteousness you shall judge your neighbor.

(Lev 19:16 NKJV) 'You shall not go about as a talebearer among your people; nor shall you take a stand against the life of your neighbor: I am the LORD.

The bible emphasise repeatedly that we are not to steal from others, to take away their basic rights. We can't rob our neighbours to deny him what was due and rightefully theirs. Gays are citizens of New York, full tax paying citizens and so deserve the same rights and priveleges and the same benefits that comes from civil marriage. So are gay singaporeans.

The bible is also careful to warn us not to inflict hardship on the weak, eg to deliberately put a stumbling block to the blind person ie we knew that gays are weak and a small vulnerable minority and yet for our own religious gain and fund raising we used gays as a scapegoat for abuse.

We take for granted our own marriages, yet deny others of marriage in the name of impacting our own straight marriages. We should have banned divorce, abortion, and adultery in the first place if we were serious about protecting marriage.

Gays our scapegoat where we become talebearers preaching all sorts of lies and self created "gay aggenda" as a false witness against gays to blame them for all sorts of ills in society. We are afraid of gays being innate when according to our misguided interpretation of the bible, a sin.

I believe, the word of God tonight to the Catholic Church and to Christian Post is "you shall fear your God: I am the Lord". If we had really feared God, the implication of grave judgement for our sins which goes to the very heart to distort and undermine the Gospel message of Jesus Christ, we need to repent.

We have been stopping the basic rights of gays for our own selfish reason and religious expediency, so that our Christian theology need not be de-constructed . It was all about us, nothing to do with gays.

The flood gates are opened. We are to get out of the way because if we continue on, the flood will overrun us and our message of faith and salvation in Christ will be undermined by our blatant dishonesty and robbery of the poor and the weak.

 We have created our own Sodom and Gomorrah with idol worship and sex with the deities, until we even have sex with angels so that we can produe strange flesh of supernatural offsprings of giants. In the 21st century, our harvest and offspings are indeed immoral giants of hate and harm against the weak and innocent. Instead of having sex with the deities, we are having sex with ourselves, profiteering from the fear mongering we create for our own fund raising and self exaltation efforts.

 The brutality of the thunder and storm is coming. The weakess in the land is going to undermine some of the strongest Christian religious organizations and power structures which have resisted the calls for equality because it would undermine their own structure where the Pope is near to God, and women are the bottom, with gays not fitting anywhere.

 The Lord God of Israel is One God, apart from all other gods even when we made ourselves god and judge and abuse the gay tribe. Fear God, for the Lord is God and Jesus sits on the left hand side of God tonight, in the position of power and authority, His heart of anguish of what the religous right has done to the GLBT community.

The time of rejoicing has come for the GLBT tribe. Let us stop resisting the move of God lest we be drowned in it.
