It's all about sex not love

(1 Ki 11:3 NKJV) And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.

It is Valentine's day and there is love in the air. The bible is about sex with the X-rated "Songs of Solomon" giving a glimpse of King's Solomon's sexual adventures. With 700 wives, there would have been many one night stands and we haven't yet included the concubines. If he had sex three times a week with a different women, it would have taken 230 weeks or 4 years before he meets the same woman again.

Where is love in the bible! a commitment to a single woman until death do us apart. It is love that Gay marriage talks about not sex and that is what troubles the Christian Right for their bible is full of sex. Such love and commitment from same sex couples are too much for the Christian Right who considers themselves far higher morally than gay people.

Love in the bible is overwhelmed by sex, lineage and religious aggenda, all straight ones:-

1. Sex is about lineage and desendents.(Deut 25:5)

Having a lineage,, a continuation of a name was so important that if the man died leaving a widow without a male child, the women will marry the next of kin to produce a descendent. Out of the lineage comes blessings.

It is also about survival as a window would not be able to find work and have no means to provide for her self. Naomi and Ruth have had to camp at the fields eating left over from the harvest.

God's grace was there even in the left overs as she found Boaz who was willing to take her into his household.

2. Sex is about ownership

Solomon had 700 wives, yet God was not perturbed in any way because he owns them as property. Therefore, he has the right to them what he choses at his own pleasure. Once, you are owned, your rights were not under consideration.

Solomom could hardly keep up to his 700 wives/concubines and would have his favorites. The rest would be left out and given little affection and care. They are harmed in a way and could not seek for divorce as they already belonged to the king. They are trapped with no love in their relationship. Yet, this was their lot and they probably didn't choose it out of their freewill to be married to the King.

In the Gay scene, the same question arises, could we handle more than one partner? Could we give equal attention to many partners? when in casual sex we may not even remember the name. Solomon would have the same problem of not recognizing his wives with 700 of them.

3. Sex is about power

When Jonathan and David showed interest to each other, King Saul was very deeply angered because David would mount over Jonathan hence like a woman looses power and letting the man become the head of the house. The Kingship would be lost to David.

There is a Christian Patriachy Movement where the women stays at home, take cares of the family, have lots of children, and come uder the power of the husband. The women is not supposed to work.

The bible concept of marriage is being submitted to the husband in a Patriachal manner. ie your husband owns you and hence you can have sex only with him. The women cannot go out and prostitute herself because this reduces her value to the husband.

The richer and more powerful you are, the more women you have "under" you as a show of their "manhood". Perhaps the notion of men having sex with men just didn't go down well with straight men feeling that their manhood is wounded and treatened by Gay men whom they consider as less than a man and behaving like a women by having sex with other men.

Therefore, we constantly hear the Christian Right proclaiming gays as effeminine, or that transexuals are actually gay men. On the contrary, Gays are totally different from Transexuals and are very confortable with their sexual organs. Gays effectively destroys the concept of Patriachy by undefining the head of the household.

4. Sex is about religious ownership

(1 Ki 11:4 NIV) As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been.

(1 Ki 11:5 NIV) He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molech the detestable god of the Ammonites.

The only unhappines God had with Solomon was not that he had 700 wives and didn't take care of them emotionally, and sexually, but that many of them had foreign religious faith.

Therefore, our bodies are first owned by God, as we are called by the God that we worshipped. Likewise, the bodies of the women that he married into were owned by the gods that they worshipped. These deities were not ideas of men, but were real spiritual beings. When we woship a deity, the deity comes into our lives, into our bodies.

When Solomon had sex  with the "foreign" women, he was joining himself to the gods of the other faith.

(1 Cor 7:2 NIV) But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.

Paul contrary to the OT practices, insisted that the sexual relationships be between one man and one woman because of the rising sexual immorality with the men having anal sex with the temple priests or the women having sex orgies with the temple prostitutes. The one man and one woman rule was instituted to ensure that the bodies of the man and woman belonged to each other ie their fullest attention and concentration will be on the one partner lest they be tempted by the temple prostitues and priests. If they have had many partners, like the rest of the population, they would be following the religion of the land where the men had many sexual relationships in the name of worshipping their religious faith.

5. Sex has a joining power

(1 Cor 3:16 NKJV) Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

(1 Cor 3:17 NKJV) If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are..

When we worship a particular god, we come under the subjugation of the god that we worship. ie we belong to the god or gods.

When we become Christians, our bodies supposedly become the temple of Holy Spirit. We are joined to God by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, when the Spirit of God comes into our bodies and filled us from top to bottom. Hence, the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit resides in our bodies as we avail ourselves to the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We never actually have the Holy Spirit in an ownership sense, but that the Holy Spirit owns us as we avail ourselves to do His bidding.

Similarly, the baptism of the spirit of the deities is done by having anal sex with the temple priests. Hence, the demonic being residing within the priests comes into us as we avail ourselves to having intense sex with the priests.

(1 Cor 6:15 NIV) Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!

(1 Cor 6:16 NIV) Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."

When people have sex, it is not that Jesus Christ is the third party, it is the Holy Spirit being the third party. And there is the 4th party, being the demonic spirit of the religious faith that the person worship. This is most evident in the temple priests. Therefore, essentially we are forcing the Holy Spirit to have sex with an unholy being. We would quench the work and presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

6. Sex unites us emotionally, and spiritually.

(Gen 2:24 NIV) For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

Sex essentially makes the two flesh one, just as a man and a woman becomes one in marriage when they have sex. There is an emotional and spiritual bond between the person we have sex with that joins and links us with thta person. Sex is therefore a tool used to bind and strengtens our relationships with our partners.

In the situation where the men have many partners,  and go from one short term relationship to another, the break-up can be messy and involves lots of hurts and jealousy.

That was why when Mary had a child, Joseph was asked to abandon her as she was know linked or belonged to the man Joseph thought she had sex with not understanding that the pregnancy was supernatural.

The bible also has strong separation between humanity and the angels, that humans are not supposed to have sex with the angels because it would mean unity with the fallen angels.  Great floods can result.

In summary, the bible has awesome sex but it prohibits sex with women you do not own, women from a foreign religious background, anal sex with temple priests, carnal sex with female pagan prostitutes, and sex between the women and angelic beings. If you are very rich, you can own many wives and can divorce them when you have made full use of her. That's where Jesus steps in and said that divorce is immoral because it is a death sentence for the women having no support and yet unable to get remarried as they are considered "soil" goods.

Divorce would have been so common and accepted that when Jesus spoke against this abuse, the disciples were very concerned because most of them perhaps other than John were straight! No wonder the disciples said that it is better for men not to marry on account of possible divorce. Jesus replied it is not possible unless it has been given - ie the person has been given the gift of being a gay man and not having attraction to the opposite sex which is very rare since straight people makes up 95% of the population.

Its all about sex not love, even in the bible .... straight people don't want gays to get married because they want all the sex for themselves. The Christian Right who have the same divorce and abortion rates as the rest of the population won't allow gays to marry because of love lest they appear more morally upright than them.
