Mat 24:9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and
you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many
will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one
another.11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive
many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow
cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this
gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to
all the nations, and then the end will come.
Senior Pastor Lawrence Khong of Faith Baptist Community Church (FCBC) /
Love Singapore who made Homosexuality as his aggenda, reinforced his
views with Thio Li-ann who was a former Nominated Member of
Parliament who has made a calling condeming gays. They see the rising of
support for Gay rights in the community as part of the end times
happenings with increasing lawlessness.
Mat 24:12 quoted by Pastor Khong was referring to the faith of
christians in the church and not the world, and so to conclude that the
world is becoming more lawless by "normalising" homosexuality is
distorting the bible and mixing up the "World" and the "Church".
Perhaps, the church has become the world sometime wayback in time.
Lawlessness and persecution didn't come because of gays it came because
of the Gospel sake (Mat 24:9). The church was insisting that Jesus was
the way and the truth and were persecuted by the Romans if they had not
bowed down to the Roman Gods. But then the love of the church grew cold
and because of the harsh persecution in the first 300 years of
Christianity ultimately joined themselves to the World by becoming one
with the Roman Emperor Constantine in AD313.
Hence, the "World" became the "Church", and vice versa and the Catholic
Church in Rome grew in power to control 2/3 of Europe thus drawing
Europe into the dark ages where wickedness reigned. We are in the end
times due to the fall of the early church and not because of gays.
We live in a lawless world where the white washed appearance of the church
hierachal holds many hidden sins and the church continued to persecute
those whose faith was in Christ rather than bowing down to the Pope
(Bishop of Rome) for the next 1300 years through the reformation and the
Spanish Inquisition. There was much wickedness and evil perpetrated by
the church because the church has become that of the world.
For Pastor Khong of FCBC/Love Singapore now to blame all the wickness
and falling of the church hierachal in the end times that we are living
in on gays is not consistent with the bible and church history.
To support his notion of lawlessness as being due to homosexuality
rather than falling away from the centrality of Christ in the church,
Pastor Khong then brought up the slippery slope argument of Sodom and
Gommorrah.
The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were brought up as examples of lawless
cities that let homosexuality reign resulting in all men of the city
becoming gays and raping the angels! We were said to be going back to
Sodom and Gomorrah in the end times.
Why weren't all the women becoming lesbians mentioned in Sodom and
Gomorrah? since all the men were apparently becoming gays and leaving
them? They were straight men and was still very much with their wives
with no same sex attraction. They attempted to rape the angels because
they were possessed by Satan.
The men of the city was indulged in the worship of Baal/Molech
where there were anal sex orgies with the temple priests and dogs of the
temple who were men thus joining themselves to the spirit of Satan.
Hence, in such deep occultic possession, they acted as one spirit to
descend upon the household of Lot even though the angels of God had
arrived very discretely.
If the angels were women, would we have considered heterosexuality as
the sin of Sodom? We would have just called it rape. The women were not
becoming lesbians but seeking out supernatural sexual pleasures. The
worship of Baal was reserved for the men, but the women found their way
in having sex with demonic angels thus were producing supernatural
giants or "strange flesh" (Jude 1:7), . There was a corruption of the
seed of mankind.
God destroyed all the inhabitants of Sodom and Gommorah not because they
all had become Gays and Lesbians but because the entire city was one
with Satan, in body and spirit, and more importantly, they were
corrupting the seed of mankind through the inter-marriage with the
demonic angels. It was not gay marriage that was banned by God, but
marriage with the dark angels!
If the inter-mixing between the demonic angels and mankind had continued
on and gone down the "slippery slope", there can be no coming of Jesus
Christ as a baby child because a righteous God cannot reside in a
Satanic body. Hence, Sodom and Gommorah was destroyed for our sake. The
immorality here is mixing righteous with unrighteousness, between
good and evil. God has a moral right to destroy Sodom because the city
was one in mind, body, and spirit with Satan.
From complaining about a progressive "world" accepting gays,
Pastor Khong then lamented that lawlessness was disguised by some in the
church under the doctrines of grace and christian liberty. Perhaps
Pastor Lawrence Khong was referring to a church at One North! On
Christian Liberty, there are hardly any liberal or "free" churches in
Singapore to speak of.
Matt 16: 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for
this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in
heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will
build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will
give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth
will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed
in heaven.” 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he
was the Messiah.
Sin has abounded in the church for the last two thousand years in the
church hierachal. The roots of FCBC, NCCS, and Love Singapore inevitable
would be traced back to the Protestant reformation, and prior to that
the Roman Church who went into marriage with Ceaser.
We live in an End Times fallen church which is lawless and is one with
the world, but where sin abounds, grace abounds even more.
It is by God's grace that the gates of Hades will not overcome the
church.
We have the audacity to blame gays for the sins of a lawless and fallen
church which has succumbed to the ways of the world in the lust of the
eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. We are married to
the world system. Gay marriage is not the issue but the church being
carnal and worldly.
It is a powerful and wealthy church since the ancient of days,
whose institution serves only one purpose to perpetuate the "kingdom of
God" on earth which is the church instead of proclaiming the kingdom of
God in heaven which is centered on Jesus Christ.
Pastor Khong may be blaiming a progressive world/liberal christianity
for gay rights, but it is God extending God's grace, love and mercy that
the Gospel may reach the last tribe on earth, the Gay community which is
not residing at the ends of the earth, but right at our city centres.
The move of God's grace through the blood and sacrifice of Jesus is well
beyond FCBC/Love Singapore, which cannot be stopped, for the love of God
and His mercies is reaching out to the remaining one gentle lamb that
was lost instead of the 99 for which the Gospel has been preached.
Mat 18: 12 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of
them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the
mountains to seek the one that is straying? 13 And if he should find it,
assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the
ninety-nine that did not go astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of
your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should
perish.
The Gay community is the little ones, the least in the community that
was lost and wandering out in the wildnerness, for which God is going
into the desert places to revive the dead skeletons. For God is
gracious, full of mercy and grace, and His love endures forevermore.
His promise to Noah, through the sign of the rainbow of God's grace,
remains the flag of the rainbow nation that at the end of the horizon is
God's grace. The rainbow is a sign in the heavens of Jesus, the light of
God shining through the falling rain of blessings from heaven of a time
of refreshing and freedom from the closet. For God has come to release
us from the closets giving us liberty for a tribe that has been held in
bondage and under the yoke of oppression by manmade religious laws.
Romans 5:20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase.
But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just
as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness
to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Our thoughts this week - The Law of Self (by Senior Pastor
Lawrence Khong of FCBC dated 08 Mar 13)
In light of current events, FCBC invited Professor Thio Li-ann to speak
on the subject of homosexuality at the past week's Leaders' Meeting. Her
views affirmed our teachings. As predicted in the Scriptures, we are
entering the end times, where Jesus said, "And because lawlessness will
abound, the love of many will grow cold." (Matthew 24:12 NKJV) This
spirit of lawlessness will infiltrate the church and the people of God.
This spirit of lawlessness comes from the spirit of autonomy. The word
"autonomy" is taken from two Greek words – "auto" which means "self" and
"nomos" which means "law". Autonomy is therefore the "law of self",
where gratifying our own desires, pleasures, wishes and satisfaction is
key.
The world is telling us that normalising homosexuality is progressive.
However, the truth is that it is regressive. It brings us back to the
days of Sodom and Gomorrah which invoked the judgement of God. Heed the
word of the Lord in Isaiah 5:20 (NKJV), "Woe to those who call evil
good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
The spirit of autonomy directly opposes God's call to deny ourselves and
follow His law as true disciples of God. Today, in some sectors of the
church, lawlessness is cleverly disguised under the doctrine of grace
and Christian liberty. Some have used grace to justify freedom from the
requirements of God's law when the opposite is true. God's grace enables
us to fulfil His law and walk in holiness. It empowers us to deny
autonomy and become slaves of righteousness. As Romans 6:19 (NIV) says,
"I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves.
Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity
and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to
righteousness leading to holiness." - Senior Pastor Lawrence Khong
