Num 34:34 Then the Lord spoke to Moses,
saying, 2 “Command the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you
come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as
an inheritance—the land of Canaan to its boundaries.
Mat 23: 37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills
the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to
gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks
under her wings, but you were not willing! 38 See! Your house is left to
you desolate; 39 for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you
say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”
The Hamas (under proxy from Iran) of Gaza has been
firing rockets over 1600 into Israel provoking a strong response in Gaza
with many innocent deaths. The rockets firing upon Israel is a
reflection of a spiritual battle now happening for the Kingdom of God to
be established in Israel with the new temple of God at Jerusalem.
Many of my GLBT Christian friends (especially clergy)
see the people of Gaza as the victims, first their land apparently
stolen by Israel, and secondly being killed by the over zealous
retaliation from Israel. There cannot be peace based on a rational mind
because these people are fighting over religion, over God's blessings.
Perhaps Jacob's ladder is in Jerusalem.
Yet, many GLBT Christians would not survive very long
in Gaza, for being gay and Christian. They would be killed just like in
Iran who had hanged thousands of gays. But Tel Aviv, the capital of
Israel is a GLBT haven.
In 1948, Palestine was partitioned with Palestinians
taking the vast majority of the lands. They could have become a nation
but could not accept Israel's existence. The subsequent wars even with
Arab support miraculously gained more lands for Israel.
There is an incredible jealousy by many nations of the
Lord God choosing Israel to be His covenant people after His own name,
and the honour bestowed for bearing the Messiah. It was religion that
resulted in the first death when Cain murdered Abel. These people are
fighting over religion, they are fighting for Jerusalem. But the days of
the Gentiles are over.
It was not the first time that the nations wanted
Israel's demise. Germany killed 6 million Jews. Germany also
killed 100,000 gays. There is similarly in Gaza, with both Hamas and
Iran bearing hatred for both gays and Jews.
The creation of the state of Israel in May 1948
sparked the return of the Jewish diaspora back to Jerusalem. Palestine
was actually theirs historically, spiritually, and morally.
In the bible, about 3,500 B.C., the Lord God
gave to the people of Israel, the land of Canaan which is today
Palestine including the West Bank. By the time of King Solomon, Israel
had finally controlled over these lands.
Over the next 5,000 years, the Jews were exiled from
this promised land to Persia (Iran), to Babylon (Iraq), and then
destroyed by the Romans and exiled to Europe and Russia. But God's word
would not return void, and the inheritance to Israel shall be fulfilled.
The devil hates Israel because through this nation,
the seed, the Messiah was born. The Lord God has chosen Israel, the
smallest of all the tribes to fulfill the greatest of all tasks, to bear
that seed, Jesus Christ whom the world would be saved. God has made a
covenant with Israel, an everlasting Covenant for His Kingdom purposes.
The destruction of Jerusalem and diaspora to Europe
was supposed to end Israel as a people. But the Lord God of Israel
was waiting until the time of the gentiles to be over.
The time of the Gentiles is now almost over in
Jerusalem. The world is watching even CNN for the end time events which
may itself take another 120 years! for God's grace waited and waited for
the oldest man on earth Methusaleh to die before the flood came. But
they would still be drinking and merrying when the end comes, not in
some WWIII that some have imagined.
There is a desire for the Jews for the restoration of
the Kingdom of Israel, the restoration to the inheritance that God gave
them. In the bible, the rejection of their Messiah in Jesus Christ would
not be final, and the days of the Gentiles will be over in Jerusalem and
the Jews would return to their Messiah whom they had rejected.
Romans 11:25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you
should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own
opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the
fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be
saved, as it is written:
“The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn
away ungodliness from Jacob; 27 For this is My covenant with them, When
I take away their sins.”
As the rockets continue to rain upon Israel, and the
devastating ground battle with Hamaz in the Gaza strip, the time of the
Gentiles is at an end. The more the nations rise up against Israel, the
more losses they suffered. There is no peace and there has not been any
peace for the last 5500 years until the Messiah ushers in rest.
The Jews have suffered incredibly to be a covenant
people called after God's own name and being a holy nation set apart to
worship the God of israel and not pagan idols. Millions have died in
Jerusalem in AD70, and in the WWII concentration camps in Europe,
Germany and Russia.
At the death camps, the fate of the Jews and Gays
became intertwined as gays too died under Hitler. The progress of gay
rights parallel that of Israel. The hatred against gays by the enemies
of Israel parallel their disdain against gays.
The Jews have suffered incredibly and their losses are
amazing. Israel is only a small footprint, a tiny land strip far less
than their inheritance of Canaan promised by God in the bible.
The time of the Gentiles is almost over. And that
scares people because it marks the stop watch for the return of Jesus
Christ. hence the judgement upon mankind for rejecting Jesus. A new
Kingdom is coming where there shall be no more pain or sorrows and where
the devil will be finally defeated.
In AD 70, the Jewish sufferings under the Romans have
been so great because they had rejected the Messiah. But when they
returned to the promised land, their hearts will turn to their Messiah.
As the world graples to find peace in Jerusalem, the
only peace is found in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Saviour and not the
absence of war. For it is a spiritual battle waiting for the end of the
time for the Gentiles.
As the rockets are now fired over Israel, let us
pray for the peace in Jerusalem.
