End times - the battle for the temple mount, Jerusalem

ברוך הבא בשם יהוה
"Baruch Haba B'Shem Adonai"
"Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!"
Psalm 118:25-28
Matt 21:6-9

The end of the world predicted on 21May 2011 starting with giant earth quakes in New Zealand came and went without any of the drama predicted. Whilsts many may laugh at the predictions and mock it, the Rev Harold Camping was not dumb. He made millions out of it - the fear, hype and request for donations all made its way to a 18 million contributions in 2009, and a 72 million Radio stations. Not bad for predicting something that is easily proven false. People gave them much money because it was going to be the end of world after all and they will have had no use for it thereafter.

The date of 21 May 2011 had to have a number of preceeding events according to the Rev Harold Camping, all which did not occur:-

a) 1988 AD - Start of Tribulation - end of church age

b) 1994 AD - end of tribulation - start of latter day rain. Great end time harvest

c) 2011 AD - May 21st Judgement day. Start of Rapture.

The dates for the rapture is not independent and is preceeded according to Camping by the start of tribulation which according to his calculations have started in 1988. Therefore, since Christians are persecuting gays and not the other way around, they are obviously not under tribulation and so the prediction by Harol Camping is inconsistent even with his own theology and schedule of events.

Whilst we may mock at the above predictions, it has been taken very seriously by many Christians. The strong political grassroot movement into politics by Christians in America in the early 1990s was the attempt to gain control of the political system so that they would not need to go through tribulation.

When tribulations did not come, the Christian community begin to create their own imagined enemies to such a delusion that they thought that gays were persecuting them when in fact there was a crusade to come against the gay community at every level. The 1990s and 2000s are came and went, and 21st May, 2011 was supposed to be the culminating judgement day. It did not happen.

There is of course no need for the church to suffer tribulation since the instituitionalized church such as the Catholic Church is essentially one with the world controlling most of the political power and wealth by the end of the first 500 years after Jesus Christ death. We only suffer tribulation if we were doing good, not when we are on the dark side. The world system may be the church and not "gay culture" as hyped by the Singaporean mega churches.

The bible predictions of End Times is based on the events surrounding Jerusalem though the Christians in the mega churches in US would like to think themselves as centre of attention. We should watch and see the events of Jerusalem when predicting the end times because the blibical prophecies were written about Jerusalem and when Jesus was supposed to return.

The churches and religious entities knew that Jerusalem was to be the centre and not Rome, London, or Washington, and many world events had their roots concerning Jerusalem:-

a) The crusades by the Catholic Church in the 11th to 13th centuries were to retake Jerusalem.

b) The Anglican South wanted to have their anti-gay conference in Jerusalem not anywhere else as if to obtain confirmation from God. However, the Jerusalem conference hit a snag when many of the pastors could not enter Israel, thus even God was putting road blocks to the plans of the Christian Right.

 c) The location of the Al-Aqsa mosque of Jerusalem was not selected arbitarily, but built on the very location that Jesus was prophesised to come back so that the Jews can never rebuild their ancient temple.

d) The World Gay Pride was held in 2006 in Jerusalem marking the very start of God's move around the world to set GLBT people free from the closet.

God has chosen Israel, and Jerusalem as the focus of attention, a very tiny nation surrounded by large powerful nations waiting to invade. Thousands and possibly hundreds of thousands have died for control of Jerusalem, seeking the honour of ruling this city when Jesus was supposed to come back. The Al-Aqsa mosque was quickly built in 709 AD in the location of the temple mount when Jesus was supposed to decend so that He cannot return - for even other faiths knew of the prophecy. They knew it was a sacred Christian place where Jesus would come back, and so stood against this prophecy by declaring that Jesus is only a Messiah and not God.

"O you People of the Book, overstep not bounds in your religion, and of God speak only the truth.  The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, is only an apostle of God, and his Word which he conveyed unto Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from him.  Believe therefore in God and his apostles, and say not Three.  It will be better for you.  God is only one God.  Far be it from his glory that he should have a son."  [insription written on the walls of the mosque]

Just like some tattoing the entire body with sacred religious text to protect it, it probably wouldn't help to do likewise for the mosque, for Jesus will come back when the time is right and any obstacles will be dissapear.

The destinity of Jeusalem is therefore defined as the place where Jesus Himself would show Himself to be the Son of God, not only an apostle, but God Himself. He came before, lived amongst us, yet His own did not receive Him, and He will come back again. When one sees the fall of the Al-Aqsa mosque, and the rise of the new Temple in Jerusalem, the end is near. That is of course unlikely to happen in my lifetime.

Terorist groups such as al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades named after this very mosque are there to fight for a Palestinian Jerusalem as to defend the mosque.

For some in the queer movement, the notion of an exclusive God, of judgement and rapture was a myth. Yet, the return of Jesus Christ to Jerusalem and the associated rapture for those whose faith is in Jesus Christ is a sure foundation in Christianity. If this is not central to the Christian Faith, Jesus death and resurrection, and return, then what is?

We are all queer and the choices we make in the religious faith we have is somewhat outside of what usually consider innate such as gender, age, sexual orientation etc and I believe God respects our decision and faith and not to generalise that all our faiths are the same which it is not.

The Christian Faith is unique not in judgement but in a justification by faith in Jesus Christ ie, we already belong to Christ through the baptism of faith. As He is, so are we, righteous before God. We have already passed judgement for Christ is the payment for our sins when we put our trust and faith in Him for the propiation for our sins.

(Mat 24:35 NKJV) "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

(Mat 24:36 NKJV) "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

(Mat 24:37 NKJV) "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

(Mat 24:38 NKJV) "For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,

(Mat 24:39 NKJV) "and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Concerning the coming back of Jesus Christ, nations and seasons will come and go. Nations will rise up and fall on earth, and the signs in the heaens will change, but the promise of Jesus Christ of His return will be by no means prove false.

Jesus Christ is coming back and that is a certainty. Jesus is coming back, not in New Zealand, but in Jerusalem. Rev Camping was waiting for giant earthquakes to hit, but the bible says that as in the days of Noah the coming back of Jesus is a sudden even without warning and not preceed by either earthquakes or tribulation. It will come all of the sudden - when people are "drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage" and not least expecting it.

How can gays be "drinking, marrying and giving in marriage" when gays are not even allowed to be married. When we see Jerusalem, we know God's heart for the GLBT people :-

1963 - the attorney general declared that this law would not be enforced

1988 - Same Sex activities legal

1994 - Common Law marriage/Co-habitation of Same Sex couples

2006 - Same sex foreign marriages recognized

The hand of God is moving out from Jerusalem to touch the nations to set the GLBT people free. When Jesus Christ finally comes back, perhaps it will be a sea of pink, and the new Temple of Jerusalem will be rebuilt at the Temple Mount.

The call has come out of Jerusalem for gay rights, the tension and fear of religious groups trying to regain Jesualem is rising, even Obama hinting that East Jerusalem where the Old City resides to retun to the Palestinians. There will be no land swaps, no swaping of ownership that has gone on for two thousand years, for the time of Gentiles has ended in Jerusalem. It is time for the Jewish people to come back, rebuilt the Old city and the temple, and to declare praises and worship to God.
