(Exo 20:7 NKJV) "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

We have used the name of God very very loosely. We have said that "God hates fags", or that God is against the sexual relationships between two men. We manipulate the bible as a tool to justify our stand and position against gays but it is not God's stand. When the OT is read, it is obvious that it is talking about straight people who over and over again have fallen astray and worship other gods and these gods take them away from worshiping the true God which is natural to the unnatural worship of man made items. These unnatural worship was exemplified when we begin to practice unnatural sex in the name of pleasing and worship the fertility gods not satisfied with mass orgies with the opposite sex. The bible very seldom talks about gay people who have a sexual orientation for the same sex nor should it be as gay people only make up less than 5% of the population. When it does in Matt 19 it was in relation with gay men not being impacted by the common sin of sexual promiscuity then and today of straight prostitution which is an abvious point as one would not find gays roaming Gaylang in Singapore to find prostitutes..

We take the name of God in vain and without respect when we use it very loosely to condemn gays without doing the proper research and reading of the biblical context, customs, and religions. The liberals may proclaim that God is a mystery but the Conservatives should know much better not to fill this void with their own perception of God, for God revealed Himself in Jesus Christ and what use is this revelation when we keep on quoting the OT when Jesus never once proclaim like we do any antagonism against Gays.

We do not glorify the name of Jesus when we undertake our anti-gay crusade but instead we undermine the name of Jesus and the ministry of Christ has for most gays and many non Christians become a Church obssession with Gay sex. Yet, Jesus greatest angst was against the very religious people who we now see condeming gays but whose closet are filled with much much more sins and hypocrisy whilst appearing holy and righteous on the outside.

(Exo 20:14 NKJV) "You shall not commit adultery.

Gay rights can be considered as a very minimum, a matter of Human Rights, where the right of a minority of the population to have the freedom to love those of the same sex, a freedom that does not in any way cause harm to the vast majority of the population. That freedom is not given to most of the world's gay population, with the only "human right" condescendingly given is to change to a straight orientation which is no rights at all. It is like asking a straight person to accept that their only human right is to be gay. When we go beyond our boundaries, to take away that which belongs to others, we are actually stealing their rights and imposing our own rights upon their lives what we deemed they should act, believe or worship. We are commiting adultery by stealing the very precious that belongs to others and that we should never have the right to violate.

(Exo 20:13 NKJV) "You shall not murder.

As Gays are persecuted all round the world, with the death penalty in countries such as Iran, and long jail sentences, and hate crimes in many western countries, despite keeping to themselves and doing no harm whatsoever to the general population in their respective countries, it has become much more than a matter of Human Rights to a matter of a Crime against basic humanity. Being in a closet becomes a matter of survival and not a human right with dire consequences. Arrests are common in Arab states, and it has even been used as a political tool in neighbouring Malaysia. The bible calls us not to kill, and we do kill and take away the lives of gay people whether emotionally, spiritually, or physically which is a crime against God's laws.

(Exo 20:15 NKJV) "You shall not steal.

Despite the claim by Rev Derek Hong of the Church of Our Savior that gays have very much all the rights that straight people do, actually the only right we deemed that they should have in many instances is the right to be in the closet. However, Gays are tax paying citizens too and we take away the privelages due to them such as marriage, property rights, taxation and health care benefits, adoption rights, childcare support, but yet they still need to pay taxes and serve in the national services of the country. We are stealing from them the privilages we have taken for granted and then have the audacity to say that the same rights are given. We are stealing from their share of contibution.

(Exo 20:16 NKJV) "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

We often spread the fear that gays will somehow infect the HDB heartlands, spread like fire, and bring down the morality and the institution of marriage. The truth is that in every culture and religion, the numbers and percentage of gay people remained relatively constant and in very small numbers of less than 5%.It is not infectious it seems and cannot be learned but rather nutural just as straight people are naturally predisposed to the opposite sex. It is a false witness to blame the marriage breakdown caused by 95% of the straight people, to gays who has nothing to do with the marriage of straight people. We bear a false witness by blaming them for something that they have no part in.

(Exo 20:4 NKJV) "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;

The church have many gods carved in our buildings and places of worship, and into our tradition and history of worshipping the saints, the emperors, and the pope, and the tele evangelists. Yet, the greatest god we have made is ourselves and our own sense of self righteouness. We often mention tradition and orthodoxy as reasons to exclude gays, but the real reason perhaps lie in the fact that the centre of worship perhaps is ourselves to the exclusion of those who differ from us and whose condemnation will amplify our perceived holiness.

The scripture was written in the context of a 95% straight population whose natural desires for the opposite sex was compormised as part of their worship of the fertility gods. Worshiping idols is not natural but clearly very important as they were farmers and their lives depended on it rather than having faith in their God. Likewise, we are so fearful of loosing our religion that we chose to crusade against gays to vindicate our biblical credentials. Fear causes us to make the bible an idol instead of having faith in God.

We therefore attribute all our sins, immorality, promiscuity, onto the hapless Gay lamb for slaughter whilst we worship ourselves and the idols such as power, and wealth gained by making gays a common treat. We we exalt ourselves far above gays, we worship ourselves, and our sexuality. We see no passion by the churches to come against the very large scale and well organised straight red light districts of Gaylang, Joo Chiet, or Orchard Towers, whilsts gay sex in the privacy of homes is considered infinitely more sinful. .

In Singapore, you would not hear even a small noise of opposition to the idol worship that is common everywhere whilst we rise in holy indignation at 5% of the population who just happens to love the people of the same sex. Nor do we hear, our evangelical and fundamentalist mega churches comment on the much established veneration of the saints and mary as co-redeemers by the vast majority of those we deemed as Christians in this world.

(Exo 20:8 NKJV) "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

We are called to set aside a day for rest, reflection, for God to have that space in our lives where we can commune with Him. The Churches where such reflections of worship, word, and prayers - based on a heavely centered devotion should be sanctified and made Holy and not open to desecration of willful sin and unrighteousness that destracts us from God.

The Church should therefore be reserved as Holy sanctuaries, not for a platform to come against a small minority group to limit their rights, call for them to be criminalized, or a fund raising effort against a self created gay aggenda. When we take on this anti-gay crusade as if it is our duty and christian responsibility, we are breaking the sabath and our fellowship with God.

When our Sabbath is broken, when that place of sacred upward communion is compromised, we will take our eyes of God and soon, our carnal nature - our fears and self righteouness takes over, and what is important then becomes unrelated to our Christian ministry. Its fears will then consume us, and soon gays become to represent every one of our fears until as Rev Derek Hong of the church of our saviour would proclaim that Satan is using gays to destroy the church.

It is a great sin, to use the church as a platform other then to spread the Gospel message of God's love, and salvation. It is not a platform to gain wealth, power, influence, but a platform to glorify Jesus Christ. Once, the Sabbath is broken, once the Holy institution of the church is broken, we break God's law because we fail to give Him all the glory and honor, and we dishonor His Name to the nations by our carnal deeds in the name of Christ.

(Exo 22:1 NKJV) "If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and slaughters it or sells it, he shall restore five oxen for an ox and four sheep for a sheep.

(Exo 21:23 NKJV) "But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life,

(Exo 21:24 NKJV) "eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

We often forgotton that there are spiritual, moral, and physical consequences of breaking the laws of God.If there is something that is stolen that does not cause great harm to the person, but more related to property rights, then a four fold repatritiation will be required. However, if we have caused great harm, then our very lives are required as a just punishment. We have ran an anti-gay crusade for the last 1000 years and the amount and greatness of our sins against gays have been growing until one day we will be asked to give a full account.

We are so eager to preach the Law in Singapore, yet do not comprehend that we have broken the laws and keep breaking them with no regards to the consequences and keep making the grace of God cheap as if Jesus death on the cross to bear the consequences of the punishment of our transgressions against the laws are a common thing. The more we preach the law as it is beginning to occur in Singapore, the more we come under the penalty of failing to obey the law. If the law is to be followed, then the Church owes the gay community practically everthing for our sins committed against them. Ironically for nation wide revival in Singapore, perhaps we should start paying our dues. However, much we pray and confess our sins to before God in seeking for revival may fell into deaf years if we do not humble ourselves to confess our sins against the gay community.

There is a call by emminet Christians for the church to become more Christ centric to focus on the massive issues facing the church concerning evangelisation, poverty, diseases on a castostrophic level. In Singapore, we have our revival crusades, the festival of praise, the nation wide prayer meetings. Even if the church turn a new leaf and take no proactive action against Gays following the example of the Singapore Government and "to live and let live", as the church of Jesus Christ we have much more to answer for in a spiritual, moral and for righteousness sake. The Genie (Gene Robinson?) is out of the box, and we have created spiritual and moral walls that cannot be broken without reconciliation and adequate repatritiation and compensation. Until the Church do so, it will chained to a large stone that impacts all its ministries and endeavours. The Gay issue will never go away even long after Gays regained their basic humanity and rights. It will be be a yoke of the law upon the church.

Father God, may we return to the simplicity of Christ, the simplicity of Love, in your everlasting Grace and Mercy humbling ourselves where we have fallen short to make things right for the the sake of your son Jesus Christ.
